NAIL BUNNY, the Earrings

Over the past week I decided to fashion myself a nice little pair of earrings out of clay to get a feel for the stuff. I'm thinking of making a few different kinds and selling them online or when I get a booth to sell my art. If you're interested in a pair let me know. I'll be happy to make you a pair for a small fee.
First thing's First mold the clay. The bunny is lying on top of a copy of one of my favorite comic books, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.
Next it was time to start adding some detail which I did with a metal nail file. It worked allot better than anything else I tried using. Than I inserted the bent nail into his stomach and had to rearrange some of the clay that was disturbed.

After all that I added the earrings into its head (which I should have done in the first place). After I completed the first one this was the first step for completing the second earring. Next I baked them. This is a before and after shot of them. The baking actually turned it a nice skin tone.

Finally The paint job. I still need to glaze them but I'm all out at the moment. I'm also going to add some chain to the earrings so they dangle a bit more. Thus my ail bunny earrings are complete.

The Pink Lady Forever Finished

Here is the progress and completion of The pink lady painting I've been working on for 12 hours. These pictures were taken every 2 hours. Unfortunately the pictures are taken with a phone so the images are a little skewed. I'm not that sorry though since it isn't great quality which will hopefully mean less stealing of my paintings.

Overall the painting didn't turn out as nicely as I'd hoped but it was an amazing learning experience since I've never attempted to tackle something of this caliber before. I've already begun my next piece. It won't be so exact to the reference picture. I consider this painting to be basically pauperism since I didn't change enough.
Although I did add more purple to the hair which I personally like since it adds more depth in the painting.

The Art-O-Con Experiment

BB

Ben and I went to our first art "convention" called Art-O-Con on sunday May 6th, 2012. Thank you Jaded dragons studios for organizing the event. It was a good experience apart from not selling a whole lot. Now we know what to expect next time. We also made a few really great contacts. All in all it was worth it for the several great people we met and the experience. Also we stayed in Kitchener with our friend. It's a really nice city. We're thinking of moving up. Hope all works out well

Continuing the Pink Lady

It's getting there and so I'm falling hard for this painting. It's been a blast and god do I love it. Pictures are skewed due to phone. My only regret that watercolor isn't more vibrant. I should really think about trying gouache.
End of class three.

End of class four.

Collasanti's Trip

One beautiful sunny Monday my 3rd year life drawing class took a trip to Collasanti's to draw some animals. These are my good sketches. Also I'm using this for my final portfolio evaluation. I had an excellent time drawing these funny looking animals. It wasn't easy though, they like to walk around quite a bit.

A job well done

One of the many different jobs I have at work. Stealing road signs seemed like such a cool idea until I started making them at work. the novelty starts wearing off real fast.
